As a young boy watching movies like Ironman and Big Hero 6, I was enthralled mainly not by the animation, the characters, the story line or the music, but the idea of healthcare and medical robotics. I have been trying to update my knowledge and would love to work on integrating modern science and robotics to bring about a revolution in the medical world. I am currently pursuing my thesis automating suturing tasks for the daVinci surgical robot system. I have completed a summer long internship at Medtronic, where I got to work on their surgical robot (still in development). I have previously worked on the active version of the AIM lab lower limb exoskeleton, improving dynamic characteristics of the dVRk and developing computed torque control module for AMBF (dynamic simulator created at AIM lab).
